Really happy with the end result. It’s not intended to be any specific Adeptus Mechanicus forge world, uses a bit of inspiration from the Ryza colour scheme, but also one of the Kastellan robot schemes.

The orange took a stupid amount of steps, uses Jokaero base orange, then an Xpress paint used as a glaze, then a shade finally Hot Orange to highlight. But happy with the vibrancy of the result. And a good example of why you should buy your paints in person, the Jokaero orange was nowhere near the brightness I was hoping for!

The gun position isn't final, but since it's magnetized I don't suppose it matters. I like the wires, decided not to bother trying to sculpt them. Should look pretty slick when painted.

I think I'll prime him tomorrow or wednesday and try and get on with the painting. Now I need to find another dreadnought power plant so I can start building the second one. Huzzah.

Smoothed around the sides, think they're ready for the cables from the legs now. Nothing too fancy there. Might try and add some more details, but not sculpted. The circle on the front is probably going to have an ad-mech logo on, though not sure where I'll get that from. Was planning on having a go at sculpting one, may still do so. We'll see.

The skull plate is coming along. I think once it's all painted up as metal it'll look better. I'm going to do some cables coming out of the plate into the new socket on the back of his left shoulder. Think that'll look ok too.

My magnets arrived today (2 days after buying them from t'bay!), so I've fitted one into the shoulder weapon mount and the other into a multilaser. The multilaser obviously needs finishing since I've swapped it from right arm to left.

Hoping this will be ready for priming this weekend, weather willing of course.

Also started the skull cap plate thing. Not much detail yet, going to try and give it a raised edge once the base has dried.

That's about it really, lots of bulking up and smoothing, but lots more to do around the join on the chassis. Oh the holes in the top of the legs are for guitar string which will be the link between the legs and the body, just trying to give the thing a more mechanical look. Er, more than it already is of course. Enjoying working on this, hope to get it finished asap.

Initially the plan was to make a gun servitor to go with my techpriest, and it may still turn into that. The problem is it’s going to be rather larger than intended. Whatever it is, it’s some sort of mechanical spider/ogryn cross breed. Type thing. Shiney.

The parts are probably really obvious, but to spell it out. The legs and chassis come from the robogear Spider kit. I used the rear two pairs of legs, and removed the back part of the chassis to turn it into a four legged beastie. The body is of course a fantasy battle ogre. The engine is an ork dreadnought engine. The heavy bolter is from an attack bike.

As mentioned, the plan was for this to be a gun servitor, hence the HB. However if it becomes a sentinel then I'll swap that. My favourite weapon for aesthetics is the autocannon, but it just looks too long on this model, so possibly just a multilaser? We'll see how it works out.

Very rudimentary green stuff has been applied. I just wanted to block out the areas and get the main chunks dry and solid (especially the torso/engine link). Once they start being detailed it should look a bit better.

Rather nasty surgery to fit the base of the bionic eye, since I drilled out to get it to fit. Should work nicely though. Actually the same style I'm using on my grots, so it must be good!
