So I got some ordered and got on with the rest of this. However now they&#39;ve arrived I wanted to start this log.<\/p>\n<p>The design is based loosely on the wespe and hummel, but only loosely since I didn&#39;t actually look at any photos before putting this together, just dove in.<\/p>\n<p>The gun shield stands just slightly higher than the top of the chimera, but the main body is much lower. I was thinking it would be like the m110 (and I&#39;m sure many other spgs) in that the driver would stick his head out the hatch to drive.<\/p>\n<p>Lots of details to add, and I still need to sort out the gun and mounts. I have them made, but the gun refuses to sit straight and I think I&#39;ll have to redrill the mounts in the support. Which is annoying, since it&#39;s too big for my pin vice and I end up using my power drill!<\/p>\n<p>Very happy with the design though. It looked god awful before I added the tracks (why I hadn&#39;t posted the log until now!) but I think it works now.
