This is the second module for the superheavy modular tank project, but the first that is an "official" design. In keeping with the nature of the project I'm going to use one hull design for the Shadowsword, Stormsword and Stormblade tanks. The weapon unit is going to be interchangeable, whilst the rest of the middle section stays the same.

Like the track unit, the model will be made from heavy card and covered in plasticard for a nice finish.

Progress

Been getting on with this now. I have some templates kicking around somewhere, but abandoned that idea and decided to scratch build the lot. It's coming along nicely I think, happy after much fiddling that the shape is suitably swordesque. Happy with the engine unit construct, not necessarily for it's look, but the design was really elegant. Perhaps it's the programmer in me..

Anyway, aside from the 'skid pan' type piece at the front, and the interior box to house the weapon mount the card work is done. Going to start covering it in plasticard imminently.

Need to come up with a nice design for the sensor turrets. Was thinking of something with a small radar dish rather than the anonymous ones on the official version. Having fun though, which is the main thing
