Based around the medic I did for the WIP competition, I wanted to start putting together the first command squad for my new IG army. Initially this was going to be the command platoon command squad, but I’ve since decided just to make this a junior officer’s squad.

Want to include some nice weapon conversions and a few ideas I have. As much a test bed for the rest of the army as anything else.

First Update

Almost done the converting on these guys, now on to the green stuff on most of them. There are two shotgun carrying vets. The first is just brandishing. Needs work on both arms to give the rolled up sleeves a bit more substance. Second vet is just carrying his shotgun as well as a jerry can. Might mark it up as a water can since these guys are desert troops, not sure.

Then there's the plasma gunner who I'm really happy with. The plasma gun is just a space marine plasma pistol, a boltgun and a lasgun all mixed together, with quite pleasing results. The rest of the model is fairly vanilla.

The medic will of course be the fourth guardsman.

The lt has the most work to do yet. I tried to be a bit adventurous and think perhaps I'm punching above my weight with regards to green-stuffing. The intention was he was going to have a tunic, like praetorians or tank commanders, that was unbuttoned and hanging open. Needs quite a lot of work though. Also the joint for his powerfist needs a lot of detail. Oh and at present he's just missing the brim for his cap, he's not keeping the medieval helmet look.
